At the end of the filing period, six positions remained unfiled in Columbia County (see list below). With one exception – the Prescott School District “At Large” position – all of the other local contests received only one filer.

A special filing period will be held in Columbia County Wednesday June 10th through Friday June 12th for the positions that received no filers during the initial filing period. Anyone interested in filing for the open positions can do so at the Columbia County Auditor’s Office at 341 E. Main St. in Dayton on those days. If any of the positions remain unfiled, the current holders of those positions will remain in office, unless they resign.

Because none of the local races received more than two filers, all of the candidates for these races will appear only on the general election ballot in November. Classes are open to all adults and will be held Monday through Friday throughout the summer. Class sessions are noon to 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., weather permitting.

The cost for the aquacize classes is $2 per day. Bottle weights are used during some of the exercises to increase strength training. Participants may exercise at their own speed and choose which exercises are best for their needs.

Classes are lead by volunteers, and may be self-directed when leaders are not available.
