Candidates File for Fall Elections

Filing for open elected positions in Columbia and northeastern Walla Walla Counties was held in June. After an extended filing period, four positions remained unfiled in Columbia County (see list below). With one exception – the Prescott School District "At Large" position – all of the other local contests received only one filer.

Because none of the local races received more than two filers, all of the candidates for these races will appear only on the General Election ballot in November. In the August Primary Election, voters will select finalists for the special election for the 16th District legislative race. Voters in the City of Dayton will also weigh in on annexation into the Columbia County Rural Library District on the August ballot. (See separate articles.)

Vote counting for the Primary Election will be August 18th, and for the General Election will be November 3rd. Primary ballots will be mailed July 29th.
