The Dayton Farmer's Market is getting ready to wrap up the 2008 season. "The community has been incredibly supportive," says market coordinator, Mary Alice Beatty. "I think having the market visible and cool in the shade of the Seneca lawn really helped boost attendance and sales." The market boasted three to five regular vendors each week selling everything from the obvious fresh fruits and vegetables, to honey, fresh flowers, handcrafted shopping bags and whole wheat flour made from local wheat. A Fall Harvest Celebration featuring live music and chicken sandwiches will be held Friday, October 3rd during market hours (4 to 6 p.m.) as a way to say THANK YOU to the community. Depending on weather conditions (Jack Frost), it may or may not be the last farmer's market of the season.
