Construction crews have been working for several weeks to replace downtown sidewalks in Waitsburg. The sidewalks now sport a brick border along the street edge of the walk. Historically, Waitsburg had brick sidewalks. New reproduction historic street lamps have been installed and should be lighting up the downtown soon. New large flower planters will be added to enhance the appearance of the downtown corridor. City buildings will soon be sporting new signs as well.
The Waitsburg city water tower, which hadn't been painted for 20 years, boasts a bright new Waitsburg City logo. Wilbur Fletcher Company did the work from start to finish. Funding for these projects was obtained from the Port of Walla Walla and the Department of Transportation.
