Life in the Foothills
To change and to change for the better are two different things.
- Old German Proverb
For better or for worse, the Blue Mountain News you're reading is changed a bit from its previous versions.
This month, we asked our designer, Vanessa, to come up with a new look for our cover. And I think the result is a big change for the better. She's changed some of the design elements inside the paper as well, to match the fresh new look of our cover.
But one thing we haven't changed is our commitment to bringing you up-to-date original news and feature stories about what's happening here in the foothills of the Blue Mountains. As always, we want our readers to learn at least a couple of new things when they read the paper that they didn't know before – hopefully more. We certainly learn a lot when we put these stories together.
Another big change we're pleased to announce is that, beginning with the September issue, the Blue Mountain News is being printed on the presses of the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin. The U-B's newsprint configuration is different than our previous printer's, so each page is a bit shorter. But we've tried to pack nearly as much information onto every page.
I hope you enjoy reading all of the interesting news briefs we've included this month. And take some time to read our feature stories and learn about the exciting things that are happening with renewable energy in our area.
And, as always, if you have any ideas or suggestions of things you'd like to see us cover that we're not, please let one of us know. Our contact information is below.
I wish everyone a great fall – always a time of change.
Ken Graham
