Dayton City Council Endorses Wind Energy

In their second regular August 2007 meeting, the Dayton City Council formally authorized Resolution No. 1126, which supports renewable energy efforts through continued development of wind energy projects in Columbia County. After nearly three pages of "Whereas's", which list many of the benefits and costs of wind project development, the resolution concludes with the following:

THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DAYTON HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. The Council of the City of Dayton hereby endorses renewable wind energy production through continued development of wind turbine farms which results in community sustainability, enhancements and continued efforts towards infrastructure.

Section 2. The Council of the City of Dayton supports Columbia County's current Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinances which promotes the progress of wind energy projects through cooperative planning and development regulations.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DAYTON, WASHINGTON this 27th day of August, 2007.

All members of the City Council were present and the vote was unanimous
